Quitting smoking...
« on: 10 April 2009, 12:09:05 »

Decided at the weekend to quit smoking, figured that 10 years was enough lung damage for me!

Managed to go smoke free on patches right up to last night, then I thought I'd try those inhilator things that give your hands something to do. After 10 minutes of that I was close to a nervous breakdown and straight down to the coperative for a 20 deck! So it's back to the drawing board today... ;D

Anyone like to share their methods of kicking the habit to give me a bit of moral support?! :y

All these patches, toys and thing just play on your mind.  :y

Use the patches mate --- but stick one over your mouth -- that'll stop you smoking ( does the weight loss a treat too !!! ).

Seriously ... if the patches were working --try them again -- but forget the "toys" ----- you don't want to "simulate" smoking -- that's too close to the knuckle.  Find something totally different to occupy hands and mind -- pretend fags just make you keep thinking about smoking!

Best of luck with it !!! :y

Cheers guys, I think I will just go back on the patches, seem like the easiest way since I forget I'm wearing them. The tampax inhilator is getting chucked though! Don't fancy the idea of cold turkey, I'm bad enough with the patches on, don't think the significant other could cope with a nicotine free Allan at this point!

On a lighter note, just noticed that my last post got me promoted to a junior member :y I feel like part of the in-crowd now!!!! ;D ;D ;D
