Well done the US on freeing the captain
« on: 13 April 2009, 00:54:39 »

..of the Maersk Alabama.  :y

If the pirates had any sense, though, they would have chosen a British ship.

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article3736239.ece

THE Royal Navy, once the scourge of brigands on the high seas, has been told by the Foreign Office not to detain pirates because doing so may breach their human rights.

Warships patrolling pirate-infested waters, such as those off Somalia, have been warned that there is also a risk that captured pirates could claim asylum in Britain.

Unbelievable >:( >:(
The only explanation that makes sense to me is that the new establishment are ashamed of Britian and its history and are determined to destroy everything it stood for. :(

A wonderful outcome; I feared the worst of endings for this sorry tale, but I`m delighted those special-ops snipers were able to dispose of the pirates......for, messages needed to be sent to the ever-growing band of Somali thugs and (unlike the U.K) the U.S have once again 'stepped-up to the plate'! :y

somali authorities

You were right to use the plural!

They lack co-ordination, coherence and most other words starting with co.

Well done to US - great ending.

As to ours - the military would be happy to sink them but the bunch of retards in Westminster don't want to upset them >:(

What I cannot understand is why a few countries don't put three well equipped SAS types on the boats and then when the pirates shoot at the bridge (which could have bullet proof film covering for the exercise) then destroy the pirates and boat as they try and board. There could be NO confusion as to whether they were fishermen or pirates at that point!  That is what the Israelis would do I suspect.

A very well done to the United States of America for showing the world the "balls" they still have :-* :-* :y :y :y :y

As for the British attitude, well all I can say is in the days of Maggie Thatcher (yes, I know a lot of you will shout something obscene now!!) there was the London Iranian Embassy Siege when she sent in the SAS!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/onthisday/hi/dates/stories/may/5/newsid_2510000/2510873.stm

The world was ecstatic how the British had achieved such a feat.  The British were proud, and the last thing on Maggie's mind was the human rights of the gunmen!! ::) ::) ::)

Now look at us the laughing stock of the terrorist world, knowing we care more about the human rights of the criminal than we do for the innocent public and the victims!! >:( >:( >:( >:(

How bloody stupid and embarrassing!  >:( >:( >:( >:(

now i know you might find this hard to believe but the guys that stormed the iranian embassy were in fact reprimanded for it for causing damage to the curtains etc when they lobbed the grenade in :o, i know this for a fact as ive met the guy that lobbed it in, he did say his superiors basically said "tut tut" dont do it again even though the government of the time expected heads to roll for the damaged decor :o unbelievable but true :( :(
