What about if some members do not go on to the forum on a regular basis and when they do come on they may like to look at anyone that has recently joined and would like to say hello? I myself don't come on here that often so when I look through to see whats new I see newbies and like to say hello.

Paul :y

Paul, If you start with the oldest newbie first - up to a week I think is the rule - then it won't be a problem, because your last welcome will be to the newest newbie.. :y

havent been in there for ages, cant be arsed after, as alexandjen said, got pulled up for it or "reminded" probably in my case.

But as then and still now i dont see a massive issue tbh.(dont see it as i havent been in there, yes i know) given how any forum works the busyer it is the quicker a post will drop down, as a newbie i never "expected" anything or was too concerned if i was welcomed or not really. And given the post count of welcomers they will always feel loved and invited in.

What i did find very disappointing when i joined, when posted a problem in general help, no tinker replyed, i bumped it again and still nothing. To the point on the third bump(iirc might be wrong) that Mr dtm apologised(but still didnt offer advise).

I know now that i posted well before peak time and it just got missed, this happened recently with forestsfinest(an extreme case i know) but because of this i now check, when possible, the next couple of pages for no replys and often find them on pages 3 and 4.

Admin will know better than i, but personally i feel this is a far bigger upset, esp as it alwlays seems to happen to newbies. Forum rules say( i did read that bit) dont bump your own post to keep it at the top.
Dont know, maybe its just me. ?

I actually "bumped" Forest's to get it back up there  ::). I know "rules is rules" but don't see too much of a prob if the OP bumps due to non-response.

I know you did HC, and rightly so. And yes i agree re bumping.

Somebody/we need to check the lower pages as well imho.
