My recent mechanical tinkering- like the new toys?

Recently took my Pug 406 Turbo Diesel off the road for 2 weekends, for a bit for an overhaul/rebuild, and to play with our new big boys toys....

Work involved included, by by far not limited to...

Driveshafts, Engine and gearbox removal

Replacement of both Crank seals (One was leaking)

Replacement of Head gasket / head bolts and cylinder head service with new Seals / Cam Seals

Replacement of Clutch Kit

New Cam Cover Gasket

New Sump Gasket

New Timing belt kit, waterpump, aux belt.

Exhaust manifold gasket

Inlet manifold gasket

Turbo Seals


And lots, lots lots more.

Got it all back together - wouldn't fire to begin with, even with diesel at the injectors. Turned out to be a short on the glow plug feed wire, once sorted she roared into life.

No more overheating, no more clutch slip and judder, no more oil loss (Apart from one seal I need to re-do ::) ;D )

I cant wait to get my own place and build a huge garage.  Army housing garages are rather tiny!

I`ve got no chance of gettin in my garage...... :o too much crap in there i really must get round to sorting it out at last count there was 4 lawnmowers in there  ;D ;D

Dont forget to use plenty of starboard as well otherwise you`ll go round and round in circles and get giddy!!!! :o ;D
