noticed the torx socket body was too wide to remove one of the throttle body bolts. :-(

Is that an ordinary ³/₈" drive Halfords Torx? That a fault I've found with them, I've used ordinary 1/4" hex sockets.

Yeah 3/8ths. I guess that size is too big for a 1/4 inch drive? But iirc there are smaller sizes, but still in 3/8ths drive. Strange. Working from memory mind.

Working at Halfords for a few years we used to have a lot of people trying it on with Ratchet Spanners and Ratchets themselves - but as soon as we found small dents down the handle (from slipping a large bar over for leverage) they used to go up the wall. Not covered though!

As long as you have your receipt and speak to someone with half a clue what day it is (difficult in Halfords sometimes), then you should have no problems.

has anyone tested the life time guarantee? Think all their tools are covered...?

Used it twice now, for my socket set the case broke first time, they replaced with no issue's what so ever, and my little ratchet that broke and they did the same with that seem very good here in Ashford.

The new case is MUCH better, with metal clips...

Yeah got a case with plastic clips, not very sturdy either but tools are excellent though.
