I need to know what ram you have cos you obviously didn't have this much ram when you ran previous operating system. Are they pairs, what make are they and what are the individual specs of the modules.
the ram is fine - he just tried to massively overclock it, with the expected result!

no i didn't it's ddr800 ie 400mhz running twice per cycle to give 800mhz, the bios setting was auto and i changed it to ddr800 not ddr1066
ddr800? Don't you mean ddr2-800? if so, quad pumped off a 200Mhz clock

Before the purist come out stating the inaccuracy above, its actually dual pumped, but ran at double speed internally, so same effect as quad pumped. But technically not the same. If that makes sense?

That looks right depending on what clock its using for memory - due to internal and external sync clocks running at double/half the speed of each other.

BTW, hooky copies of Vista will come to bite you on the arse - buy it if you want to use it. Ultimate is generally not the best version costwise, unless you need to be in an AD and have media center.
