Council waste
« on: 27 April 2009, 21:59:08 »

We have our rather plastic and tins picked up in separate containers, these containers are made of plastic (Look like storage boxes) anyway, everytime the idiots empty ours the bin men always empty the container then THROW the container onto the floor or slide it up the drive........we have had 3 replacements due to them breaking after the bin men abuse them, we have just requested another one as again, it is broke.....the rather council sent me a letter today saying due to already having had it replaced 3 times i will have to purchase one. i will be popping into our council offices tomorrow to express my feelings and to tell them where to shove the letter and if they dont replace the container i will find an alternative method of getting rid of the waste..............the bin men want a good sorting out, they are slowly damaging the kerbs near me due to reversing up them and there is no need to.
Rant over, council will be getting some tomorrow. >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Good news, the council have arranged to send another waste container and there has been several complaints about the particular men that pick up the rubbish, they are also going to send someone out to inspect the kerbs...........and to cap it off, they are going to give me a compost bin, free of charge (Usually £25) most likely get bill on next years council tax ;D

Good result though :y :y :y :y and kept my cool. :y

Sounds like we have containers for plastic to come from what you have posted.

We have Green and Black wheelie bins for Garden and Normal.

Blue box for Glass and Metal and a Blue Bag for Papers.

We have blue for recycling, green for normal and brown for garden.
Well 6 days after the council became a unitary authority( or something like that) we had a  letter that as of november they are putting stickers on the brown bins .... BUT only for the people who pay £20 a year for the priveledge of having their brown bin emptied???????

So  pay EXTRA £20  a year or no sticker and no garden rubbish taken away >:(

The road name sign just outside my home has been missing for nearly two years. I told them about it just over eighteen months ago & reminded them again late last year. Still no sign. How long does it take. They wind me up too Pete.
I reckon they must pick on everyone called Pete ;D :'(

we have purple bag for paper and clear bag for plastic and cans.

If you want garden waste disposed off you have to buy a roll of green bags at the bargain price of £6 for 10  :o :o :o >:(

i work next to the tip so they can break off ;)

Our garden will soon look like an extra from Joseph and his amazing Technicolor dreamcoat with all the different colour wheelie bins we.  I expect there to be an influx of reports of pensioners trapped in bins in the coming months...

Once upon a time .... your council used to get credits for the ton(ne)ages of cans, bottle, paper etc that they did not send to land fill ie in your grey 'residual waste' bin. Now they don't! So all in all it would be cheaper for your council to put all your waste in a hole in the ground ...... & cheaper for me & thee in council tax. They now have wagons (@ 2 or 3 MPG) & crews for all the different coloured bins you have cluttering up your garden/path.  :-?
