Generally, as long as the previous owner had it serviced properly and regularly.

Also, check that mileage is correct - the Omega wears very well, and its tempting for dodgy 2nd hand car dealers to 'tweak' the mileage by a few 10s of k

No. Buy a Merc if you want reliable. if you want something to do and you dont play golf then buy an Omega, it will give you many happy hours of fault finding & rectifying ect..

yeah mate ive had no big trouble with my v6!

apart from silly little electrical faults namely sensors that need to be replaced now & then the omega is a fairly reliable car you dont see many at the side of the road!

i reckon because opel/ vauxhall gave the omega a £30k price tag build quality seems to match the price tag its certainly better built than a vectra!

Mercs are alas not reliable anymore the later ones are terrible the last of the proper mercs was the W124

*touch wood* my 2.2 has been very reliable, best investment i ever made. Had it for over 4 and a half years.

Only needed standard maintenance parts!

Mercedes low spec economy models not that reliable..But big sedans with monster engines (and monster prices and taxes) , never hear any of them have problem..And imho those are real Mercedes..

my grandad is an independant mercedes specialist!

i can tell you tales of woe with just about every model the W140 was the start of the bad mercs

as i previously said the W124 was when mercedes stopped making cars that were designed to last 30 years
