Errr yes......i can vouch that 3.0 15 yo senator moves faster than my 4 yo 2.2   :(

That 3.0 24v is one of the best engines Vauxhall ever made i think, its about it hit 142k miles still sounds sweet as a nut.

What makes me sad is the guy i bought it from, he picked me up from the station in an L Reg 2.0 Carlton CDX.... that 2.0 sounded smoother and quieter than my 2.2  :(

Your 2.2 has been abused, but you are going the right way to make it purr again :y

The wrong air filter didn't help, seeing as it didn't fit and was far too small, but does indicate the care the car had before you got it, ie not much.  But with the TLC its currently getting, it is getting better

Tunnie, good luck with the changer. The Grundig kit was not great, even back then.

I would whip it out and fit a proper headunit. :)

I have to agree having looked at your piccy's it looks like my cars original radio which I have since partially removed as I left the changer in the boot.

Although its got me wondering why fit a senny radio in an omega :-/

without changing the gear ratio's or raising the revs you wont hit 170mph.

infact even then, im not so sure a senny will have the oomph to do it.
