I am with orange and have had the same number for years.

The sim has to be taken out of the phone and put back in to get the thing to work on occasions.  had trouble topping uo yet again tonight.  I dont spend much topping up £5 lasts 3 to 5 months.

Can i swap the number to annother service.

Which service works out best value for making landline calls on peak rate ( on the rare time it does get used)

hiya srLady bitsie. i am with vodafone and have been for years .never have any problems with mine .when i first brought the elite i asked about the best sim card and was told 02 is one of the best ones .i do not no if you can keep the same number when changeing from one network to another .you will have to ring your network provider and they will tell you what to dohope this helps good luck

as far as im aware when you get a different sim card for pay as you go it comes with a phone number allocated, i think you can only keep your number if you are on contract, the provider issues you with a reference number [theyve got a name for it i cant remember]which is passed on, perhaps a trip into one of their high street shops & see if its possible to do what you want,,,good luck

you can change networks and keep the same number weathers its contract or payg
you need a certain number and it then takes a few days for the number to be transfered to the new network

Hiya mate. give orange a ring and request a PAC code. Buy a new sim card for your new operator and give them your PAC code and they will transfer your number. It takes a few days and is normally free.

Tell them you need to change networks because your employer is paying for the new sim and you have no choice ----- that works ( well it did for me -- they have no come back to that one!)

Hey Skruntie.

I'm with O2 PAYG and i'll be honest, I find it difficult to spend money on my phone. With all the bolt-ons and great deals they run, i'm more than happy. Although it may sound like i'm a salesman for O2, I promise i'm not   Have a look around and see what's the best for you, but O2 is a pretty good bet.
