hi could any body help me ive decided to flush my engine now i normally use flushing oil but this does not get the engine clean now ive been told i can use diesil oil to flush it trough will this do any harm to my engine its a diesil any way regards brian

Don't do it - just do some frequent oil and filter changes

Was told by Mark DTM in very polite but very clear terms not to use that engine flush stuff AT ALL...........!!!!

I think there is a very good reason to not use it too

As for diesel...... Are you crazy....?? Or am I thick???!!!

It can dis-lodge sludge into places you don't want it...

Just keep the oil changed, it's all that matters...

Even carbon clean can cause problems if the car is not new..

If the engine is maintained correctly there shouldnt be any need to flush it.
But having said that, if it hasnt and you have oil pressure problems and a smokey engine it is worth considering.
A small amount of diesel fuel not oil into the oil just before an oil and filter change may well help your engine.
Some 40 years ago we put about 250ml of diesel fuel in the sump of of a smokey engine and run it for about 20 mins at differing rev's and then changed the oil and filter.
Using this method I got 110,000 miles from a Capri 2 litre (pinto engine) on the orginal cam shaft.
Rust killed the car but the engine was sound.

But why are you thinking of flushing................Whats wrong with your car ?

trust me it will on a omega engine seen so many knackered and stripped a good few ! best way to clean it out is to remove sump and clean it and pick up pipe then a few regular oil changes will sort most problems

I have agree with you about the regular oil and filter change.
But if the the service's have been missed and the engine is full of gunk. A FLUSH will remove the sludge and then some rapid oil and filter changes will save the car from an expensive strip down

Don't flush it - period!
