VX Paint
« on: 02 May 2009, 18:00:15 »

Went to my dealer to get some touch up paint last week. Firstly suprised they did nto stock it Star silver 2. Then secondly the price. Retails at £6.90 + the dreaded. Ordered 4 tins, total £26.04 which included a little ABS discount.
When i went to fetch it the bloke brings them out with a confused look on his face. That part number had changed & thay were now £10.75 each including VAT. Total would have been over £40 for paint!!!
I had paid when i ordered thankully, he went off to chat to his manager & I walked away with my paint at the old price. Most likely coz they know i will be back at some point for other parts for my car.

How in the hell do VX intend staying in business charging those prices!

We had a bit of an hassle with some spray paint from our local dealer too :-[
My hubby ordered 4 packs (1 pack inc a tin of paint and a tin of laquer) I think it was approx £13 which we thought was pretty cheap :)He said they would be there within a week.I bobbed in just over a week later and the parts guy looked a bit sheepish and explained that they were special order items and they were coming from Germany so could be another 2 weeks yet >:(
Just under 2 weeks later I got a call from the parts guy explaining that the paint had come..Yippee but there was a problem..boooo they had sent the wrong colour!!! My car is blue and they had sent white paint ::) I was flabberghasted how could this be.when my hubby ordered it he gave them the reg no and everything and told them to make sure they got the correct blue( Polar Sea Blue ).
He said he was very sorry for the mix up and he could get the correct colour within 2 days (which seemed very funny after being told originally it would take 2 weeks!!).
So we said we would wait another 2 days..sure enough I got a call and the correct paint had arrived :)
This time it was the head of the parts dept that I saw and he explained that the guy who had taken the original order was a trainee and he had ordered POLAR WHITE instead of POLAR SEA BLUE :o..That is why it had taken so long.And...to add insult to injury he hadn't charged us enough they wanted an extra £20 on top of what we had paid already >:( Well you could imagine my respose to that..I was not happy at all and kicked up a bit of fuss so he had to go talk to someone else..and decided that he would give me the paint at staff rate which meant I had to pay £5 extra instead of the £20..Which was still annoying but it still meant we got 4 packs for under £20.
