Went to see Bob Dylan live at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Friday night, if I said he was crap it would be a compliment, as a life long fan I'm gutted, to be honest I thought he was taking the p*ss he was that bad, sad to see and hear him like that. Nice Arena though !

As someone who grew up listening to Bob Dylan, I am afraid to say that your experience last Friday Dave is no surprise to me.  Some years ago I heard him sing, and it was appalling, with I am sure decades of drug and drink abuse showing through loud and clear!!

Marianne Faithful is another great singer who now cannot sing and is painful to watch due to drugs and drink.

Oh yes, the 60s were a tough era for top artists as they put their whole into their music and rock life style.  They say if you can remember the sixties you were "not there", well with Dylan and Faithful they don't remember the 60s............70s.....80s and 90s cause they were stoned man!!

Never heard of Dylan having drug/drink problems. :-/
Great songwriter but I always preffered other people covering his songs rather than having to endure listening to hin croaking them.

Dont think Dylan has done a decent live concert for decades has he??My brother is a huge fan and , altho I think he's always been an arsey old git (despite the playfulness of the Wilburys) I have to admit to him penning some of the great songs of the 60s/70s. My own favourites are the electric blues/rock/folk of "highway 61" and "blonde on blonde"and even if you dont like his voice most of us can appreciate his songs. Hendrix's "all along the watchtower" anyone? His "Blowing in the wind" was also the song that spurred Sam Cooke to pen "A change is gonna come". As for Marianne , only ever knew her for the mythical mars bar thing until a mate played me Broken English and quite like that .
