Potential purchase
« on: 06 February 2007, 19:06:39 »

Might have to talk sweetly to family (or credit card).. but I reckon I might test this one out, to put the LPG kit on. Seems like a great car for the money, given the full MOT.

Looks like all it needs are the foglights sorting.

Thoughts?

That would look a million dollars with some Elite alloys and my leather interior...

I reckon play the cards right, and I could break the V6 for enough to almost cover the cost of this.... it's worth more to break than sell whole...

Believe it or not, although I get stick about the amount of time I spend on the forum, she absolutely loves my Omega's!

She was a big reason I kept the V6 and got shot of the rover. She said she'd been spoilt with the Omega, and didn't like driving about in a diesel go-kart!!!!

(Mind you, I had to agree with her...)

It's near Somerset

The guy tells me there is no rust to be seen

Comes with a full MOT, and he promises me it is faultless.

I'm going to try and view it tomorrow night straight after work.

Looks a tidy example, odd fog lights though, it looks like someone has fitted a stupidly massive one on the offside  :-/

Other than that looks good, any history on it? - Belt / Ten / Pump ect??

Its a 4pot i take it? for the LPG. IF you do the belt, tensioners, pump ect.... i may do mine too. Its just ticked over on 99k and got awful thoughts about the place i bought it from just replacing the belt....

What are the costs on TC for full belt change including pump ect for 4pots?

I took a m8 to uni as he was late to submit an assignment, going along the bump roads here to uni... my m8 said "Dude this is the smoothest car i have ever been in, seriously its like silk sitting here"

Made me smile.... on the way back I chucked it around a bit to show a 1.7 ton car thats as long as a barge goes around corners quite well too  ;)

Tunnie, you get the bits, and we'll do the belt together when I pick up the seats from you. Peice of cake on the 2.2

We'll also get that rear timing cover off and have a stab at that bolt

Better be safe than sorry.

Very kind offer m8, might very well take you up on that. But got any idea on costs?? If its around 100 ish I can do it, if its much more its going to be a problem.

I would do the belt kit and pump as a matter of course if the car is that tidy and I'm fitting the LPG on it.

It's done 90k, with part history. But to be honest, if it goes well, steers and stops well, and has a tidy body... It's £495!

What I would hope to do, is break my V6, and make back the best part of that.

I can't see it being an awful lot more, I think the belt kits for the 4 pot are in the region of 50/60 quid on ebay, and I can't see the pump being that again, so you should be ok...
