You are allowed to drive to a pre booked MOT, and back, via the most direct route :y

Yes - edit to add - you still need insurance.

You'll need to be insured on it but as for no MOT... Yes, to a Pre-Booked Appointment :y :y :y

Who do you insure with ??  I am with Direct line and was in a similar predicament -- they agreed to insure the second car free for a day to allow me to get it to and from the MOT station --- but I might just hhave caught them on a good day !!!

Im with Sheila's wheels ;D ;D I hate the advert but love the low quote ;) I will ask them tomorrow, what about no tax though? Im in a village, nearest garage is only a few miles but thats the garage that wanted to charge me £700 to fix heater and power steering but thanks to oof I worked out it was just a fuse >:( So I may have to travel a bit further to find a more honest garage :-/

Tax not required as long as it's pre-booked :y My MOT garage is not my closest but my 'preferred' garage so as long as you take the most direct route and not via Sainsbug's on the way for a weeks shopping you'll be fine :y

Insure with whoever you like, once you have informed them of the facts.
The MOT isn't worth the paper it's written on anyway, and tax is just a civil matter if you are caught without it.

what about no tax though?
As above, driving without no road tax (whether you inform your insurance company or not) does not make any odds to your insurance status.

Think about it.....the law allows you to drive to & from a pre-booked MOT (even if the car fails), and without an MOT....you can't tax the car.

Tax is a civil matter, nothing more, nothing less.
