Chip and PIN was introduced to move the liability from the card issuer to the card holder since the only way it could now be used would be in the cardholder's presence. It is not so bad if they fiddle your card abroad and you can show you were not in that country, but if someone uses a clone of your card in your local Tesco just try to get the money back from that one.

i got this 'thing'  from natwest last year which looks like a calculator and is suposed to generate a code for internet purchases. :-?

it's still in the box and i've never had to use it
