My missus had wanted an astra twin top (cabriolet hard top) since she spotted one on the motorway. I told her no chance but, being a big softie...........

Anyway, I spotted a nice blue one in EH over the weekend and I've just been down for a look. When I got there it was gone But I then spotted a 'roof' moving about further down the car park. I went down and a salesman was driving it about, roof half up/half down. As soon as he spotted me he said "Can I help you mate?" I said "Just looking.....err...I thought you weren't suppose to drive those with the roof up."
He said "You're not, f**kin things broke again. Every time I try to show a customer, it f**ks up".
"Well" I said, "at least you've got a big workshop to fix it".
"Nah," he said, "they know f**k all about these. There's about 10 motors and they're always going wrong. We have to get someone in to fix it".

As they say in a famous newspaper, I made my excuses and left.

It might be the only 4 panel roof of its class but IMHO Vauxhall or who ever styled the hard top drop head Astra could have done better. Each tail light is split horizontally in two  :-/ and the back window looks more like an arrow slot, the intial impression is that it's as big as A N Other Astra, but if you look passed the blacked out bit, the actual window is tiny. If I was having an open top Astra, I'd have the ordinary rag top.

Don't do it... My sister had one and it leaked from day 1, and it was 3 months old when she got it. It spent 9 months of the first 12 in the workshop and still leaked.

She's in the process of taking the dealer to court for selling something unfit for purpose

utter s**yte! dont bother with peugeots 307cc theyre rubbish too  mum's 307 has decided to open the windows randomely by its self even when its locked!

local stealer was useless and told us to goto Hylton worcester as they know more about them!

The new astra gets released later this year i saw the pics in this weeks auto express and pics of the 3 door insignia coupe that may or may not be relabelled the new calibra.....they do look good
