Disconnected from VM,

All they did was disable your box from their network, the signal is still on the end of the coax (and that is ALL of their services that are still there).

When changed to sky, have sky+ box, card was enabled for package when I got it, disconnected package in November, so would assume card should still be enabled,

When you disconnected, it was the viewing card that was disabled.

ran through all the serial number crap with them, said everything Ok their end.....so

They told me the same crap last June...simple fact was nothing had been enabled after 4 days..so I went & bought a Dbox and attached it to a spare bit of coax that had an F connector on it that was in my living room

Have a spare digibox upstairs that we use in the bedroom, but would that work the same way thru sky connection as the Dbox thru Vm

By DBox do you mean the DreamBox Linux based PVR?

Versions work with DVB-T DVB-S and DVB-C

Sky had the money for decent encryption that would take the worlds most powerful computers 4.3 million years to break.
VM aren't anywhere near as big, and can't afford the price tag that goes with decent encryption.

I went through exactly the same crap last June with Sky, and believe me, no amount of "forced callbacks" or anything else is going to enable your viewing card (the box doesn't needd to call back anything anyway).

Eventually I bought a Dbox off fleabay for £100....problem solved, eevrything enabled, and that includes the PPV crap.

Total monthly cost for the Dbox = fook all!

I won't say anything further on this thread, because Admin will end up shi**ing themselves (unless you are admitting to arson or driving like a c**t, in which case thats OK).

You get to talk to someone in Scotland when you are joining Sky, or thinking of leaving.
Anything else, you go through to a goat herder whose 3rd language is English if you are lucky..
