Excentric camber bolts fitted
« on: 18 May 2009, 22:44:57 »

Been to Fleet Fit in Loughborough this afternoon for a full set up on the geometry front. Had some new excentric camber bolts fitted so that when it is set it stays there, barring suspension wear it is now impossible for the camber to alter as the excentric cam on the bolts keeps evrything in order. A BIG thanks to John and Ricky for their spot on work and needless to say the handling has improved no end  :y :y :y

My lowered Elite had concentric adjustable poly-bushes on the rear and concentric bolts on the front. They worked well, but it'll still go out if you abuse it by kerbing and potholeing.

Edit: Actually, thinking about it, I don't know why they were called "concentric" as that isn't really the correct description.

These bolts wont stop it going out....and they actually dont work to great on the Omega due to the omega employing a slotted hole.

They only work due to the weight of the car forcing the hub against the bolt shaft......they still rely on the clamping force of the bolt to hold it there once set (unlike ther Astra etc without the slotted bolt hole).

The only benefit they have is to the fitter as it makes it easier to set the camber.  :y
