Insurance Screw Up
« on: 20 May 2009, 20:47:10 »

Nearly Wasnt insured today.

Took on Admiral Multcar (AMC) on the 19th last year, but didnt run the Elte bought 27/4/08 untill June 1dt.  So in my head thats when I thought the insurance was due.

Got a letter from AMC today saying they were taking £465 for the 2 cars today on the card I used last year but as a DD.  (Which had never been agreed - Just paid by DC last year)

Rang them up and cancelled the DD to be told they would not insure me as of today.  After explaining the date mix up and sating I had rung arround they redid my quote to re insure me.

2008 Premiums.

1999 3.0 Elite (T) £245 Full NCD
1999 2.5 GLS (V) £235 No Discount availble

New 2009 Premiums.

1999 3.0 Elite (T) £200 Full NCD
1999 2.5 GLS (V) £216 1 Year Discount availble.

Both cars now Covered for 12 months for £416
A saving of £64 :y

Unless you have a conviction/points I dont see why you should be paying that much.  But then sating that, it does depend on your location.

I move home next month, and my premium looks like going up by £46 on the Elite and £80  on the GLS just for a frigging post code change :-/

I had my 1.6 bmw with hsbc, when bought my first mig, 3.0 and was told they don`t do high group cars.. so used a broker.
Now, with 3.2 i went for confused.com and only paid £40 more per year than for 3litre :)
