Vauxhall have had it
« on: 21 May 2009, 20:27:07 »

Business Secretary Lord Mandelson has told the BBC that there will be "painful change" resulting from the takeover of GM Europe.

This, he said, would be inevitable whichever of the three bidders for the European arm of General Motors, which owns Vauxhall, takes over.

"Whoever comes out as the successful bidder will cut costs and consolidate," he said.

He also said he was working hard to secure the future of Vauxhall's plants.

"We have to ensure that productive plants, where the greatest percentage of sales take place and which include UK Vauxhall plants, have a secure future," he said.

"That is what I working for."

In other words............

He has probably already arranged to flog the factories off cheap to his billionare Russian Pal for a nice little consultancy fee. ;)
He has all his finances put through a blind fund (or something like that)so that no-one can investigate,he has been cauaght a few times before.

Well at the the euro elections I am doing a protest vote, and it will be for the BNP I am afraid. I would not do that in a general election, but feel I need to protest in some way that won't see me getting thwacked with a baton. (last bit a joke, I hold the Police in high esteem, and believe it is a tiny minority that spoils things)

Well it would make sense to just badge as OPEL  that would save millions on production costs

perhaps they should also bin the Insignia too

Can you imagine the cost involved in changing the name from Vauxhall to Opel. Just think of the cost involved in changing all of the underground maps just to start with !! :o :o

Won't be long until Ken is in the job - unless they replace Osbourn with him

I doubt they will give him a really high profile role because despite his undoubted good points it would probably split the tory party in two because he is a lover of the EU and most of the Tory party arent. ;)

Pity though - he is in my top 10 list of good politicians. BTW my list is party blind - ie are/were they good.

Winston is top

A very good chancellor,he left this lot the strong economy which they sqaundered, maybe if they can do a few deals in smoke filled rooms about who is allowed to say what when etc; it could be a possibility to give him the job but it would be a big risk for Cameron and he doesnt strike me as a risk taker.
In an ideal scenario I would like to see David Davis as leader and Ken as chancellor :y
