Ok. I am now in a REALLY bad mood!  >:( >:( >:( >:(

I just typed all this out, went to post, and promptly lost internet connection!!  >:(

MV6 failed on the following...

1. Nearside headlamps matched pair are incorrectly positioned.

Thought you had fixed that.....
I forgot!  :-[

Quote
2. Offside (high and not in focus) headlamps matched pair are incorrectly positioned.

Easy tweak...
Agreed. The damn headlamp moisture is annoying though!

Quote
3. Offside rear coil spring is incomplete.

Must have already been like that..... ::)
Hmmm!  ;)

Quote
4. Offisde front tyre tread depth below legal requirements of 1.6mm

Silly bugger  ;)
Yes, well pair of tyres will soon sort that!

Quote
5. Rear parking brake recording little or no effort.

Thought you were doing that as well before the MOT.....
I meant to... not difficult (unless there is a shed load of snow on the ground!!)

Thank you for that mate. I am sure your teams appreciate your equally warm supportve words in times of need!  ;D

There is a spring on my garage floor, currently being used to stub an already broken toe everytime I open the door, but promised to Tunnie to fit on the Senna in a couple of weeks.
You could borrow it and save the air from turning blue whenever I go into the garage.

Well it would be selfish of me to not aid a friend in time of need, especially if my actions prevent physical injury!  ;D

Thanks Pete. :D

This is surreal, I cant believe we are proposing to fit a second hand spring, let alone fit it to one car then fit it to another one two weeks later.

Will you need the loan of a spring in 12 months time?...perhaps we need to start a Forum library of essential-for-MoT spares, maximum 2 weeks loan or face a fine.

Would it not be easier to buy an Omega in every colour they did then hire them out at MOT time so you can put your own plates on  ::)

Some weekends it looks like Mark's drive has every version and colour of Omega parked on it or filling the Close.  :) You'd think the neighbours would get upset or wise-up and buy their own Omegas.

You are never frantic. ;)

Grumpy, irate, belligerant even, but never frantic!

Still could do with loan of a headlight though. :)

Ok, best do an update (sorry but other stuff has been happening over the last couple of days, I will post about that tomorrow)...

After a weekend of hard work. The MV6 now has a shiny new MOT cert. :D

Mark (once again thanks mate!  :y) changed the rear springs for me.
I did the handbrake cable
Mark sorted the lights
Fin helped source parts and drink tea! ;)
And I bought a pair of tyres!  ;D

However, the car is now looking a little different....

The springs we replaced them with were Irmscher springs! ;)
I bought a full set of barely used ones for an excellent price of Stuvaux on here.  :y

Result... the back end is somewhat lower, and now runs on 255/45/17 rears!

Damn does the back feel planted though!!  :D
I have ordered new Bilstein dampers al round and we will fit them along with the front springs.
Oh and it will have a chip from Mtek fitted too!
Result should be the car the MV6 should have been in the first place!

To anyone thinking about lowering it. I would say go for it (on an MV6 it looks great!) but be careful how much you drop it by. No more than 30-40mm.
Change the dampers when you do it though.

Mark will give a report of how the car really handles once all this is done as I will lending it him for 24hrs (no way am I going to be a passenger for that test!!)  :o
