Fuel, anyone else found a difference
« on: 05 June 2009, 20:28:00 »

Hi all,
Last week I came back from 3 week holiday France / Germany. Before I went I had the regular usual 3.2L problem of catylist efficiency low, so took my GS 500 with me to cancel light.

Happily, didn't need to use it. Not a light in 2,500 miles. been back a week, and yesterday finished using up the fuel brought back, refilled at BP garage.

Hey presto this morning, going up road, light on, reads catylist efficiency low.

Any thoughts anyone???

Roger

I still believe filling mine with Tesco 99 RON triggered off my fuel trim malfunction problem of a few months ago.......

Could be down to the driving style. Lots of fast motorway miles to keep the cats hot as opposed to pottering around town?

Sorry, but as a newcomer I have to ask this. What's GS 500? Old Suzuki?

its a scan tool to reset the light.

Lpg makes no difference to the light/cat code.....

Mine still out by the way. Touch wood. Am expecting it any day now, esp. As i am nearing the end of my list of jobs. Car spends most of its time at 80 plus :-X on the motorway at 5a.m.

I found my consumption went up ie worse using Shell V Power .
And made no difference to the light ... only changing the cat did that .
I just use standard tesco stuff  :-/
