Aren't your numbers saved on your Sim ?. I don't know how the phone has died, but could it be connected to a computer, and possibly you could access it that way ?.

Well I put my old sim into the new phone I have bought thinking all my numbers were on the sim like you say Ken, but they aren't 
So tomorrow the phone will be having a full on conversation with the 14llb Sledgehammer

Now hang on, I don't know the model of phone, but its likely that the numbers are saved in an EAROM chip somewhere. It is poss that you can get the phone repaired somewhere, or if it is in a seperate EAROM, they could transplant the chip from an old phone to a new one.
