Greens turn attention to cremation
« on: 16 June 2009, 23:13:42 »

Seems like cremation has now attracted the green mob in Kirklees District Council, Yorkshire:

"Council crematoria have banned families from dressing the deceased in their favourite outfits, under the strict rules against man-made fabrics.

Parents have even been forbidden from placing soft toys insides their children's coffins because they could pose a risk to the environment when burned.

Instead, grieving relatives are being told they must pay £60 for a council-approved "fluffy and frilly" shroud made of 100 per cent natural fibres.

FFS! (Don't know what that acronym means but everyone is using it these days  ;) ;D ;D)

To me cremation is the only way to go, and my wife is well aware of my wishes when it happens.
The green party will have gained a few votes with this idea, NOT.

I don't like fire & so cremation is not an option. Burial is also out, because i don't like the thought of it. I plan on becoming fish food when i go, which very kind to all :)

In Ireland there are only two Crematoriums in the country so I guess the bizzare issues mentioned don't really apply ,   yet.
However they have a total ban on any ground fires being lit to burn off waste and police it with typical Irish vigour.
You see they have a plane , yes a tax payer funded leased plane , that flies around looking down on the minions below making sure they don't have the audacity to have even the smallest of fires .
One oversight  though is the fact that they only "lease " the plane down here in County Kerry on Tuesdays , Thursdays and Friday Mornings so we wait 'till evenings and Friday afternoons and have the most glorious great ******* pyres and burn off all that we wish. ;)
All the local farmers have a mysterious plague of careless evening hill walkers at this time of years who can still afford the prohibitivly high cost of cigarettes and who without fail discard they're lighted matches in the most remote parts of the hills and mountains which results in the catastrophic , but every so convenient , burning off of the wild gorse.
There are the most glorious sights nightly of what look like crashed 747's all over the mountains .
Aye , where ther's a will.......... ;D

........if they happen to get the length of Northern Ireland/Ulster/Six Counties/Occupied Six Counties next month, they'll witness a sufficient number of ground fires to keep them out of your hair for some time ;D ;D ;) ;) :y
