« on: 19 June 2009, 19:38:28 »

my sister got 1 of those 3 man tents from asda for £20 and brought it round for me to help them set it up

really easy to set up it was up in a few mins including pegging it all down

and split's down in seconds and is easy to get back in the bag

if your looking for a cheap tent then go for one of those :y

Just be aware that with a hydrostatic head of only 1500mm, it wont be to water proof in heavy rain!

We spent a night in a tesco 2 man tent once, in the piddling rain. We got soaked every time the wind blew the rain into the tent.

Hydro head of something like 800 on that one - it was an emergency tent, which went in the bin next morning  ;D

Tesco value tent..£6.97

Take it to your rally, set it up, kip in it if you actually make it back to where you set it up, leave it there the next morning.

Job done!

In the UK, I wouldn't want to sleep in anything with a HH less than 3000.

The '5 man' tent I used in York costs under £60 from most places if you shop around. Seems to be a common style, sold under different brands. HH is 3000 on mine, may vary with other brands, so check.

The 'greenhouse/anderson shelter', again classed as 5 man by manufacturers :o, is claimed to be 5000 HH, I paided £185 for that one about 4yrs ago.

Bob Dent had one of these at the Lakes meet last year, luckily he pished and slept on an air bed, it was floating on 3" of water when he awoke the next morning. Good job Bob's Omega is an estate
