Central Heating - 3 way valve

As many of you know, I had a problem about a month ago with my valve being too stiff for the actuator to move it.

I bought a new valve (complete with programmer, tank stat, room stat etc, as it was only £3 more as a kit, and can go on egay), along with system cleaner and some inhibitor.

The instructions on the cleaner said leave it in up to a month, which is where we are now.

These seems to have freed off the valve, and its working perfectly now.

So, should I:
1) Drain it all out, flush, refill with inhibitor and leave it. Keep valve in case it does play up
2) Drain it all out, flush, refill with inhibitor and leave it. Get refund on valve and other bits
3) Change the valve anyway.

I know what I'm tempted to do, but after the voice of experience on this one, in case its not worth the effort.  :-/

Personally - being a lazy B and a pessimist, I would go with option 1.

Easy to do -- but .... just in case ...... ::)

If the valve is trivial to get to I'd go for option 3. Otherwise, option 1.

Actually.. That reminds me. One of ours was playing up in the winter, so another job to add to the list. >:(

Shitefix sell the Danfoss valve for £69, or a 'heating control pack' (valve, programmer, room stat, tank stat) for £72.  Thats assuming you are unlucky enough to have danfoss shite (saying that, apart from a programmer failing last year (£50 :(), and a 3 way valve failing in my first house when lodger put a wet duvet in airing cupboard and it dripped on the valve actuator, danfoss has been reliable for me :))

Personally I'd change it and have the peace of mind of a new one...

You know it'll fail on the coldest day otherwise ::) ::) ::)

'Go the mile' and do a proper job!

Flush out, change the valve and refill with inhibitor......you`ll be glad you did `come next Winter. ;)
