Makes a fantastic noise though with its twin turbos and no real silencer"!

Now imagine two of these nose to nose with 40 loaded coal hoppers restarting from a signal stop.
There used to be a signal just outside of the office where I worked, (V Block at Plessey Beeston) if one of these trains got held at the signal all conversation in the office had to stop until they got moving again.

Nahhh....this is a shed (note the nice 'pent' roof on it ;D)

On loan from GBrF....I was not so impressed with it, it did not delivery the raw power and thrutch that the likes of the 56 and 47 do.

Having said that, the driver who turned up on Saturday was very good, giving it some stick. The guy who arrived on Sunday was not interested, he simply coasted it everywhere and was not impressed when we gave him a little nudge from the rear of the train!

I guess thats due to the computers all over it!

Its interesting how you can hardly hear the horns inside the insulated cab!

The 20's dont rattle to much if the balance shafts are correctly set (they dont stay set for long!)

The 47 I like, simple.....the 56 with its alternator and thyristor setup is a bit more 'detached'

The 20 is great.....an old bike chain connecting the power lever to the governor.....pull and go!

All the above are inferior locos, I am afraid this is one of the best locos made in the UK and is better than any of the imported c**p we have now.
