Very good!! 8-) 8-) 8-)  The wonderful Blue Pullman should have lasted a lot longer than it did, but such is "progress". ::) ::) :D ;)

PS I wonder why the driving position in these trains operation on Western Region tracks was on the left and not the tradition right of Great Western Railway engines;  don't bother to answer, I know, so that conformed to the rest of the British Rail empire and the GWR pushed into history >:( >:( :'( :'(

.......and as for the American train, yes they are something else, using to the full all the space and lack of gauge restrictions as they can in the US.

I have seen some even longer trains when driving through Arizona into Colorado, and sometimes you just cannot see the end of the train or its front! :o :o  Wonderful sights. :-* :-* :-* :-* :y :y  Imagine though what it would have looked like with 4-8-8-4 'Big Boy' mallets thundering through 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

And a 54 year old British design can out perform it (if given the chance). ;D

TBH for passenger work the HST power car has not been bettered.

And Deltics are capable of 120s if allowed to wind up.

My favourite steam class can do 90mph, pull over 2000 tons and accelerate faster than a banking M7 while pulling its own train.
