Never embarrsed by Rovers, but always embarassed by any caravan. They should be banned.

You are just jealous of us people who have affordable holidays in lovely parts of the country without being stuck to meal times and you get to sleep in your own bed!

i don't get the 'affordable' argument.

My grandparents have a caravan, paid around £5,000 for it!! Their value goes down like a car, you have to pay to camp, looking at Eurotrip it was expensive, they charge you per person, then per car, then caravan size, then charge you for water and electric. You are also often well outside the town or city and is a 20 min drive and parking costs to explore

You get awful mpg when towing something the size of a caravan, you can't go over 65 mph....

You the have all the gear you have to take, which again costs more money... empty the toilet every few days  :o

When I was travelling in America, sharing costs with a friend. I paid around £30 a night to stay in Marriott hotels, which had free internet, air-con, and free breakfast the hotels were right in the centre of the city!

I spent around 2 weeks so far in them, their points scheme is very good. I already have enough points for 2 free nights!

And when you are caught short at 3 in the morning you have to trek to the bogs rather than climb out of bed though a door and there you are 8-)

Depends on the tent, Timbuk's is the size of a bungalow, had heat, lights & a toilet........
