You can still remind program/series rather than record, if thats what you mean. Just press select and it will ask to Remind Once or Series.  :y

Was used to it automatically changing channels on the standard box as well though.

What!!!? You have to change the channels yourself? With the remote control? F*ck that for a lark. ::)

Am allready pissed off with ith it.

On the planner on the old box, I could set every saved channel for series link and auto view if I chose to.

Now it seems I cant set auto view but am forced to set it to record.  Thought these things were supposed to improve, not get worse. :-/
know what you mean, that bugs me.like sky plus but i liked the autoview feature, was really handy for going to bed  without having to get up and change the channel. >:(

The guy that did the install was actually pretty helpfull.

He was telling me there is a big software update due in possibly a months time.  Currently is being tested on the thompson box's but will be the same for the pace, amstrad etc.  Big changes and more features to what we see as we press the buttons for the screen graphics.  Reckons will be the old menu on going to bed onnight then the upgrade the next day without warning.

Also asked about all the connectivity, lan, usb, etc, was told they are not active and never will be unless there is a demand for them.  Seems that with no major competition they wont swicth the ports on untill the likes of virgin do on thier boxes.

I don't know if I have got the wrong end of the stick regarding this auto view thing, I assumed it was just when you set a reminder then when the program starts it changes the channel over, as far as I know all the sky + and hd boxes do that regardless of the software, I may be wrong though. I have had the new updated software and EPG running on my box for about 4 months now, much nicer to look at than the old one but a tad slower, not slow enough to bug me though. Still waiting for my new Sky Viewing card, I think that will help a little.  :y

afaik, autoview was for non recording boxs to turn over for vcr recordings from the standard sky box. So not needed with sky plus as it records on its own. Missed the feature when sky plus installed then realised you dont need it(think about it, you really dont need it). Just record everything, and watch as and when suits you. Cant remember the last prog we watched "live" so to speak.

We had the new "mini tv" menu download on our HD box a while back. Looks better, but a bit annoying and def runs slower, was never quick to start with.

Re your trees, they should have asked you if you needed a special hights team installer. Usual sky fitters will not go higher than first floor level. Took 3 visits to get ours on a pole at the back of the house above the roof line.
