Entwood, where do you get those prices from? I would find it handy to be able to find prices.

I'd guess he's got them from the tradeclub website.
www.tradeclub.co.uk
You need a log in which VX will give you if you have a TC card or I believe ABS will give if you have a card through them.

Correct .. I have an ABS tradecard £20 a year which gives me access to the TC site for prices, my local dealers takes the card with hesitation and gives me "trade" prices on non-TC items. The card has paid for itself about 20 times I guess !!!

Just been looking through the eligable cars at the Omega.

Loads of info there for anyone thats needs it at a glance (Allways check your handbook) Was looking at the towing info for the Saloon.

750 Kg or 1800 KG with a braked traler.  It also mentions a nose weight for the trailer of 75KG , what exactly is that then?

Nose weight is the downforce at the hitch. If the trailer is perfectly balanced about the wheels it has a noseweight of 0... the maximum noseweight is the STATIC vertical force the towbar has to cope with. Easy way to measure is with a bit of wood (broom handle) and bathroom scales. Place length of broom handle in hitch head with other end on scales. step back . read scales ... :)  Some folks think they can put the nosewheel on the scales and read that .. but the nosewheel is further back so the leverage is different.

A positive noseweight is imperative for safe handling, Bath University did a load of work and came up with 7% of total trailer weight IIRC, but the towbar/car maximum must not be exceeded or you risk damage to suspension/towbar.

Cheers Emtwood  :y

So the specs say we can tow 750KG with a 75KG nose weight, so it must work out at 10% then.

you also tow 1800 Kg with the same 75 Kg noseweight ..... not quite 10% or even 7% now !!! (just over 4% !!)  :)
