Follwing Turks entertaiment thread......
« on: 24 July 2009, 10:00:20 »

My wife has just been telling me that in Sheffield(where she works) one of three council employees who worked together went home ill and was subsequently diagnosed with swine flu.

The authorities, in their desperation to stop the spread, went straight round to the other two employees homes and were waiting for them to come home. It was a similar scenario to the one Turk described. As they approached their homes they were greeted by men in full bio kit and one said there was a small white tent erected in the garden!
The mind boggles.

I'm not at all surprised STMO, we are after all living in a land where appearance matters more than content.

We live in a land where people set their moral compass from the charts of light entertainment and where the machinations of its denizens are followed with rapt, almost obscene, attention.

A land where parental responsibility is seconded to desire of living the dream as depicted in the glossy pages of popular magazines and where living for the moment seems to have supplanted the need for future planning.

Finally, we are in a land where covering one's arse reigns supreme - where local representatives refuse to accept their responsibility and cower behind legislation in the fear that any decision they might make may have to be stood over – safety in numbers now seems to be the primary consideration for those charged with responsibility.

This country is in very serious trouble - make no mistake!
