VX are not in my good book
« on: 01 August 2009, 12:04:19 »

Hoping to leave home early today for an oil cooler change for a customer.

Checked the bits last night which I had been supplied - BAH - it's all wrong, and half of it is missing.

Corrected this morning, after going to dealers, so it's all good - just means a later finish than anticipated ::)

I need to do the front brakes and was looking at eurocar parts cheapo ones, came to about 65 squid for discs and pads. Decided to give the local dealers a call out of interest as I weren't too keen on using cheapo brakes and they quoted me 97 all in. I decided to go for that and when I went to collect it transpired this was the trade price, I heard trade club mentioned so thought I'd chance me arm, and ended up with them for 87, and I have no form of trade membership at all!

I doubt this was the full trade club discount, but I was happy enough - proper parts for a tad more than the cheap ones. so they're not all bad all of the time.

It'll be a different story tomorrow wen I go to fit them and they're for a corsa though.

My local parts department is great, Hartwell Kidlington Vauxhall. You press the bell and they're there. Longest I've watied for is about 45 secs. Always willing to help, they accepted my Autobahnstormers trade card with no trouble. Can't praise them enough. And like the other member, they always offer to carry heavy parts to my car for me.
