try a good car shop, aerosol, specifically for 'dismantling'
great stuff.

or rust flash / freeze and release, all much much better than wd40.

if I had none of the above, I would use wd40 though
in the same way I would never use it for lubrication, if I had anything better

You know you cant get that in Ireland , nor Penetrol or Releasall or anything that doesn't come in an aerosol tin.
