Well another football season has started with the exception of Chesters game today, looks grim for the club, what a shame after 130 years looks like its the end of football at the Deva stadium :'( :'(

:( Even if they do get started it will be with a 25 point deduction! ,sometimes you get the feeling they WANT small clubs to go under, when did you ever hear of a premiership club being deducted points? >:(

No premiership clubs have been put into recivership yet to get a points deduction, but the way things are going it might not be long. portsmouth are in real danger due to the protracted take over bid and it is only by selling players that they have managed to keep going.  It does seem to be unfair that some clubs get a 15 point handicap and others get 25 or 30 points deducted. The FA do seem to have got their heads stuck in the sand. :o

Gutted! My Grandad played for Chester late 20s early 30s! He went on to play alongside Stanley Matthews, not sure who for though!

Another problem with blue square football is the lower amount of teams promoted out of it and relegated into it, makes it harder for the stronger teams to progress to the level they deserve to be at.

Like with Luton last season, the way the FA treat teams who have dificulties is a complete disgrace really. Besides Luton being in the same league as my team (Stevenage) will make promotion a bit harder :p

Looks like we will have 2 local teams promoted this year then yatesDelta! :y Oh by the way.....I`m a Luton supporter and season ticket holder. Agree with what has been said, the FA are only interested in the Premiership. My god, the look on Mallwhinny`s face when we won the Johnstone Paint Trophy this year was brill. It`s something that will stay with me all the rest of my life! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yeah i watched that game, really glad Luton got something from the season.
Would be great if both teams get to go up this year.

Sad, it's like the situation at Livingstone FC - they don't even know what league they're in!

relegated due to insolvency but appealing it - they didnt play their first game in the Scottish 3rd Division because they disagree with the leagues decision, so they may get sanctioned further - whole things a mess - aah - footy's back  8-)

while we're on the subject - I wouldn't be too sure of Arsenal getting to the Champions League now they've drawn the Hoops - c'mon the 'tic!  ;D :o ::)
