.....if you know the opera Ms Zoom, Cio-cio-san (Madame Butterfly) sings of there being 'One Fine Day' when the love of her life, Lt. Pinkerton of the United States Navy, will return in his ship to the bay in Nagasaki to be with her once more and the child he left her with (unknown to him)

When that day comes Pinkerton does indeed return but also brings along his new American wife.  This is too much for Butterfly who kills herself in grief.

Renata Tebaldi always sang this aria with the sympathy and naivety necessary to convey that fact that it was meant to portray the tender and simple desire of a young female.

Butterfly was seduced and married by Pinkerton when she was aged 15 you see - who said opera was boring
