You've got me thinking about Colchester now. It's strange how you can stay in a place for ages and then not remember much about it.
I remember two pubs I used to drink in, The Robin Hood and The George, are they still there?

I remember a fantastic restaurant called Clowns(IIRC) on the high street. Their pies were to die for...

And the Hippodrome..  8-)

Erm... Must be something else.. Or did I destroy that many brain cells there? ::)

Dont remember Clowns Kevin. The Hippodrome is still there, not sure if it had a name change though.I remember walking past the front of it on a sunday morning a few years back, the foot path was covered with blood, fairly typical Colchester weekend entertainment. ::)

Oh yes :y It was a quiet town until us squaddies descended on it.
Mind you. I believe the Romans were quite rowdy, and they were well before us. ;D

I was interned in the other "barracks" - across the river in Wivenhoe Park. Just as rowdy though. ;D

Used to be a restaurant called Clowns in Ipswich - never tried it myself, but my son said it was good.  It's gone now.   :)
