Lexus RX450h, Pretty impressive really.
« on: 21 August 2009, 17:06:37 »

A big 4x4, decent performance, nearly 45mpg and 148g/km co2 meaning £125 rfl!

Hats off to Lexus, those are some impressive stats.

Exterior is a bit hit n miss, but the interior is lovely.

I'm not a soft roader kind of person usually, but this, I like.

BTW I'm not a tree hugging, lentil eating, save the dolphins eco-mentalist.

I just like this car. :y

Looks like good fuel economy for a car as large as that, but the environmental cost of the chemicals used to produce the batteries (and despose of them when the cars is life expired) make it considerably more polutive in maufacture than a normal car, so not really as "green" as they like to make out. Nice interior though, I agree on that.

Yes cost of fuel is one of the benefits of being over here. The other benefit is you have a petrol attendant who fills your car up for you.  ;D

Every time I come back to the UK, the first time I go to fill up, I always sit there for about 10 seconds before I cotton on that I have get out and fill it up myself.

That won't work here, they would send the petrol attendant inside to do the weekly shop.

I can remember some garages when I was a kid that would do the same .... but that was a long time back now!

I might aswell say now before someone else does!  ;)

I remember now a bit, my dad used to call them Petroleum transfer Engineers. I'm not suggesting you're from the same era as my dad.  ;)
