LOL. I suspect you don't if the images don't download in time - what your ISP claim and reality often don't match 

Was it just at a particular time - occasionally our images server does throw its toys out, but 95% of the time its a-ok

It happens always and just on my home pc and in OOF because I've tryied on my job pc and images comes ok.
Difference between pc's are minimal but on my job i'm running IE8 and IE6 at home.

I would say that is to do with your isp's speed....sounds like photobucket or the like is timing out coz the image doesnt get downloaded within 30secs....try reseting your router/modem....other than that....you have a crap isp....probably

I still think its either ur pc...running really slow....or your internet connection being slow....

I used to get the same sometimes on my old slow laptop (used to spend most of time 'swapping' to disk..ie hammering its harddrive)....havent had the pob with this netbook

I'm here in Cairo on the ADSL (lucky if you get much more than 800Kbps download), but on a brand new Netbook with an Atom 1.60GHz CPU, 2Gb RAM 200Gb HDD, XP SP2 and IE 7.0.

Many, but not all, of the pictures are givng this error. This is the 1st time I have ever seen it.

My home set up in UK is a 3.5Ghz Intel Dual Core CPU laptop with 3Gb RAM on a 1.7Mbps ADSL.

It's in all images in this forum. Also happens that the page seems to be downloaded(looking at the status bar) but after some seconds begins to appear the pics with the cross.

Had similar with IE6, tried IE8 - didn't like it, now using Firefox 3.5something

None. I usually navigate in other forums without this "event". I asked because never seen this before and thought there was some advanced settings in the forum that I didn't know or will be that must register in PhotoBucket? strange thing but.....
