I think it was Tonight with Richard Dimbleby, that was the accompanying programme to today's Panorama that started in the 1950s 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

You could be right on that one Nick, as I know it was a heavyweight politics programme on BBC in the days when I cared little for politics!  But I seem to remember interviews with Harrold Wilson in particular, and reviews of the then USA space race.  Must have been in the years 1964 to 67 approx.

I think it was 'This Week' a current affairs show which ran from the mid 50's up to 1992 - in various guises

That was the title track but the album had the Karelia Suite Intermezzo, America (Copeland) & Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in D minor as well
