Midday interlude

Finland is a beautiful country and this music (by the Finnish composer Sibelius) is fantastically interwoven to the video. Watch in HQ!

I challenge you not to start tapping your feet at 1:50. :y

Splendid Nick that just hit the spot :y :y

I have to say the production value of some of the Tube's contributors is impressively high 8-) 8-) :y :y

I wonder if anyone can remember the name of the current affairs programme broadcast circa 60's which ran the theme as heard at 1.50 in the clip as its signature tune?

I think it was Tonight with Richard Dimbleby, that was the accompanying programme to today's Panorama that started in the 1950s 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) ;)

I think it was Tonight with Richard Dimbleby, that was the grandfather of a programme to today's Panarama 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) ;)

Never noticed that before, but I think HQ means High Quality, rather than Headquarters. Could be wrong though, Lizzie!  ;) ;D ;D ;D

I think the music was used for What The Papers Say, but I may be mistaken. :-/

You could be right on that one Nick, as I know it was a heavyweight politics programme on BBC in the days when I cared little for politics!  But I seem to remember interviews with Harrold Wilson in particular, and reviews of the then USA space race.  Must have been in the years 1964 to 67 approx. ;) ;)

Was that the one on Sunday afternoon just before The Big Match?

Funnily enough I have a pile of CDs that we borowed from my dad next to me and the Karelia suite was one of them. Time to warm up the valve amp. [smiley=evil.gif]

I think it was 'This Week' a current affairs show which ran from the mid 50's up to 1992 - in various guises :y
