Whatever next! I bet someone will invent a hard disc recorder for TV instead of video, hand held internet devices, mobile phones that can take and send pictures.

If you whistle does it come round to the front door?

This might sound a really stupid question - but is remote start legal in the UK?

How would it work with the insurance if a vehicle with remote start was nicked whilst "warming up"?

I'm sure that there is an answer, but I'd be interested in hearing it.

It's perfectly legal but it invalidates the CAT1 status on any Thatcham approved alarms. I used to fit CAT1 Toad alarms and I'd set them so you have to disarm the alarm to remote start the car but the central locking clicks shut after 10 seconds of the car starting.

this 1 does not unlock the car on remote starting
it stays locked
and if anyone trys to break in the alarm will sound and the enigne will cut out

That is really impressive! I wouldn't have had a clue where to start.  :y
I'm usually the one who buys cars like that, then something goes wrong, then the mechanic looks at me and says "Someone's made a right balls of this. It's gonna cost................." :(

Nick, have you got your doors locking automatically when the car is started?

I've wired in another alarm and have got it locking and unlocking on the remote, but it does not lock on ignition. It unlocks when turned off though!

Which plugs and pins did you connect the lock/unlock pulses to?

To do: Replace brake discs and pads; adjust already replaced shoes; check for leaks in oil cooler, cambelt area, crank seals, sump, dipstick; replace osf door; replace a tyre; clean, MOT.

mine locks when ive got the key in the igntion and if i'm about to drive off i give the brake pedal a tap and the doors lock :y

the unlock wire goes to pin 2, 16,12,14 there the brown with white stripe wire
and the lock wire goes to pin 4,3 and 1 there the brown with red stripe

So the unlock pulse is given to four wires and the lock pulse to three wires? All on the same connector?

I like the brake pedal trick!
