Ebay listing + email address

I have asked someone on Ebay to email me some further piccys of a car, basically the seller has listed the question along with my email address, I have contacted the seller to remove from the listing my email address but he says only ebay can do this.

Is this true?

Have emailed ebay but have not heard anything back from them.

I haven't used ebay alot but I dont really like my address being on full view.

Can anyone make any suggestions.

I think the only way to get the e-mail address removed is by ebay themselves of if the seller ends the auction and them relists it.

I think I will have to change my email add over this, I have contacted Ebay twice now and nothing.

Lesson learned, wont be so quick to give my address out in future.

In my small amount of dealings with Fleabay I have found their customer services very reasonable, although I don't think I have ever had a response within 24 hours, which is unfortunate, as you need something done a bit more urgently!

Its been on there a day now and the listing is for 4 more days, my inbox last night was full of spam from sites I've never seen before hence the urgency but I think the damage has already been done.

sorry to hear about your dilema and spam can be so fustrating especially if you got dial up, might be an idea to sign up for a hotmail free account for dealings like this.

Thing is I have a hotmail account but I wasn't expecting the seller to post my question up with email address included or does ebay do it automatically.

I think in future I will be using another account for these situations.

Ebay doesn't do this automatically, when he answered your question he had to click a box to get the answer and quetion to appear on the listing.

Anyway, I like spam. Spam and chips, Spam egg and chips. Spam, Spam and chips.......

If this is the case when selecting questions you should be able to remove the aswell surely.

Unfortunately I dont have his email address otherwise I would be tempted to do as suggested.

If anyone needs some freebie email accounts, I have some Google Mail invites left. Hotmail sucks, frequently doesn't deliver mail properly, as the hotmail system autodeletes stuff if it doesn't meet certain criteria. Gmail is good. 2Gb (yes 2G) of mailbox storage, full POP3/SMTP (unlike the free hotmail), fast etc etc. Downside of Gmail, currently invite only...

Yup, set Outlook up as POP3/SMTP, and set up settings in Gmail settings for POP3.  IIRC, Gmail uses odd port numbers, but you should be able to bluff your way through...
