cortinas/Anglias before my time vamps :D
I used to follow the circuit of Ireland rally(and other smaller rallies)around the country in the late 70,s so have fond memories of the old chevettes/escorts etc......those were the days. 8-)

I have driven those, as used by Russell Brookes of 'Andrews Heat For Hire' fame.  Driven all his spare cars fro Mk 1 Escort up to Manta.... :)

There's a few quid to be made in Malta. Escorts were 2 a penny the last time I was over there and there were plenty of them, anyone fancy a working holiday ::)

Much to much money for a kart spring based live axle boat!

Not a bad car in its day but, over priced and not a pleasent thing to use on the modern roads.

I would argue that Mike (dare I! :D) as my brand new 1972 Escort was much better to drive than one of my then boy friends Anglia.  It was more refined, punchier, but yes I still had to fit a radio although at least it had a heater!! ;D ;D ;D ;) ;)
