I have a Canon Pixma IP1500 which has served me well. Also, it takes cheapish clone cartridges. (Did you know that, if you take the price of an inkjet cartridge with 21ml of ink and work out the price per gallon of ink, it works out as well over £1000, indeed, much more?

)
Anyway, on my Pixma, the waste ink pads are full and the printer now refuses to print. You can reset the counter to override it, but if the pads really are full, you run the risk of ink overflowing everywhere. To have it serviced is over £50. To do it yourself is a nightmare (I've watched the video on YouTube and it's very easy to detach springs etc.). Also, after waiting around two days for the pads to dry out and rebuilding the machine, i have seen several comments to suggest that the machine will still not print!
Looks like a new printer, then.

I'm not flush with cash, but I do want the ability to print photos and I want cheapish running costs. Any suggestions for a good budget inkjet?
