Hypocrites, well most of them at least.

How can they dish out sentance based on the laws of the land if they dont uphold it.

Same as the judge years ago that sent murderers, rapits and child mulesters down, he then got nicked for having a computer full of child porn.

They are human and make mistakes. No one is perfect.

There are just under 2000 "full time" judges and about the same number of "deputy" judges as well as a large number of "Recorders" who can sit on some cases.

I'm sure 5000 odd hard working, highly qualified, serious minded folks are pleased to be branded "hypocrites" because of the actions of a few.

I didn't realise I was a member of a forum with such high moral standards.......   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Once I might consider a mistake, but not twice, call me what you want, I dont care.

I have the same attitude regards the police when they

* Park on double yellows facing the wrong way at night, with no parking lights on.

* When they use the Blues and 2's to jump traffic, just to be seen parked outside the local take away 2 mins later as thier break  time is running short.

* For blatantly not going about thier work in accordance to the law but nicking others for doing what they get away with.

I didnt say they didnt do a good job.

But as an authority they should lead by example, The police and judges uphold the law, so when you see Traffic officers racing as fast as they can to see how long they can stay airbourne and then see how many sperks they can make on landing then someone explain to me why it's allright for them to do it and waste public money repairing the cars, when we are not allowed to do with outr own privatly funded motors.

In my experience -

We regularly have an urgent shout, on a busy shift - and respond on blues. On occasions, the control room will then stand us down half way, for whatever reason. (Maybe a closer unit becomes free and calls up for the job).

Quiet often when in this position, we haven't eaten for many hours, and if we get stood down from a shout, will take the opportunity to grab some food from somewhere before the next one comes in.

The amount of people that comment on "you just used your blues to get a takeaway" never ceases - but, the reality is, they haven't really got a clue what you have on....

Not saying it never happens, and I am aware you get bad apples,  but be aware that what you see, may not be an accurate reflection of the actual circumstances  :y

Very true James, and that is what I have witnessed when out with a police patrol. :y :y :y

In addition I have seen much needed refreshments quickly left in the canteen to go cold when an urgent back up call request comes through! :'( :'(
