Is what i got from the first 3/4 of a tank on the beemer bike. Just done 150 mile blast around the chilterns with TheBoy, loving every minute on the beemer.  8-)

Its comfy, its fast, it corners like a dream. Sure TB's Kwaka is faster, but he was not exactly leaving me behind!

Stopped off at some big monument thing, managed to get 2 helmets, tank bag and other gear in the panniers, shame jackets would not fit. But if i was on my own thats just the kind of practicality i bought it for!

Some brilliant sweeping corners on a fast run back, sweeping through at  95 err i mean 60 

We spotted a potential place for an OOF bash, with plenty of things for young families TheBoy to do as well. All in all a good day, now time to pop out for a curry and few beers i think!

I seemed to have gained a load of extra gears on the Kwaka, trouble is, all of them are Neutrals  .

The big Monument thing was Wendover Hill, nr Chequers (where I was too busy 'waving' at Brown's security cameras that I may have slightly overcooked the bend )


Good ride out, but I drank a whole tank of fuel - I think cleaning and regapping the plugs has made things worse, and the air filter is knackered.  Not easy to get any more

Wendover Woods was the place that may do for OOF day meet - few things for people to do there, though £5 charge to park

Whats the tank size on yours? I still have a 1/4 ish tank left (range says 60 miles, and 2 blobs on the gauge) but it was full to start with. Which matches the 200 ish mile range the GS forums suggested.

I think that you have made a good mature choice Tunnie....Although at 25................the 180bhp/180 kgs sports bike  equation would have been a little too tempting for me.
Still.........you should have a lot more low down torque than the race reps......1200cc of flat twin..(one third of a 911)............sounds good to me

Did you say 20l tank? 4.4gallons for 200m, which suggests 10% overread on fuel computer?

Did you say 20l tank? 4.4gallons for 200m, which suggests 10% overread on fuel computer?

Not sure if its a 20L tank or 24L  :-/
