I never did my own and I'm really struggling to get my son to do his on time! :(
To his credit (and hes only 5) he got full marks in his spelling test last week with no help from me (I forgot)!!! :y

I think you are correct Mike :y :y

No doubt they are encouraging the kids to enquire, research, or just write down what they think the answers should be before they start teaching the subject.  Once they have taught the children on this subject, they will ask the children to fill in the answers again to highlight how much they have learnt.  I believe that is standard teaching practice. :y :y :y

Agreed Lizzie..

Research on a specific subject for a children is important .. They try to teach you a way to develop yourself also on your own..  And after the schools finished there are many subjects you need to learn yourself..  :y

My sons idea of research, put question in google, copy, paste job done :o  :o :o :o :o

its his first year in science and he hasnt got a clue about anything, he does know how to do embroidery and cooking though. ive spoken to the school, they have a long year ahead and a lot to learn. and obviously the school cannot teach everything to them so some things they should be able to find out themselves without being taught by the teacher. so when they take there exams and the questions are on certain parts of the subject they have not been taught or know nothing about then i guess they dont get good results.

I'm digressing here, but one of my english teachers used to lean over you while you worked and cradle your head between her breasts! :D   It would have been delightful but for the fact her breath stank!!  :(  Times sure have changed, and not just the work either, these days you hear of teachers having it off with pupils all the time!  :o  Mind you i'm probably just jealous it never happened to me  ;D ;D ;D

i used to go to the library every night whether i had homework
or not .The librarian who did the tea time till closing shift was a proper babe  ;)
