Bloody Computers
« on: 30 September 2009, 16:06:32 »

So todays the day to retune the freeview for digital.
Open the settings on the media centre, start to retune and it closes down media centre.
Any attempt to use a tuner now crashes the VMC app.
I think it's trying to tell me that it's time to flatten and reinstall seeing as its had vista installed over xp and tv pack installed over the top of that and topped off with sp2.
Good job I put all the Tigger's recorded tv on a seperate drive or I'd be in real trouble. ;D

So it'll be numerous hours of winblows updates on the tv tonight, probably more entertaining than the garbage they're screening anyway.

Talking of retuning, I did our digibox today and channel 5 has gone :o and i thought that the retuning was, in part, to make Ch 5 more accessible.
I did it again and discovered no ch 5 on 5, just a message saying it has moved and re tune, I looked around and found it on ch number 0804... ::) ::)

Might have to get the instructions out to see if I can change the number >:(

I did a silly thing and rebooted mine after retuning. Now the remote won't wake it back up...

...guess I should really reboot it again

Finally, we have Vista sp2 back installed.
Bloody thing didn't want to install updates but after a little chat, threats and shaking a big hammer at it it's seen things my way.
