...can you direct me to a reliable news source then bj?

me  ;D

I'll say this bj ,you're good for a laugh :y - but getting back to a reliable alternative news-source ::) ::)

OK - i'll give you reliable in reverse order

FOX News
The Daily Star
The Mail and The Express
The Sun
CNN
SKY News
ITN
The Guardian, Times and Telegraph
The Independent
The BBC
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart
Private Eye
Channel 4 News

start with Channel 4 and work you're way back, Zulu - you'll not go far wrong (although i wouldn't go too far past SKY News)  :y[/quote]

This might surprise you bj but I watch Snow and Co., on a regular basis, I subscribe to P.E. and take the Telegraph and the Gruniad - excuse me - Guardian and finally, have a number of Stewart's shows still to watch on my pvr series stacker.

I may be Establishment but that's old school Establishment where socialism was not considered with the distain than the present socialist classes levy on most things that doesn't gel with their thinking ;)

My own view is that NO element of the mainstream media is trustworthy these days. That includes all the broadsheets and the BBC.

Obviously, not all you read or hear is untrue. However my experience is that, in the mainstream, journalism is a dead art.  :(

I think that's not too far away Nick. :y

The hacks of old have evolved into chummy participants of the 'spun news cycle', quality investigation is  passé :(

..and the ironic thing about BJ's list is that, while the Guardian & BBC actively censor anti-AGW comments, Glenn Beck on Fox News is practically the ONLY mainstream outlet which airs the climate realist viewpoint.  ;)

I watched FNC for a long time - only for Greta van Susteren mind you - but I have to say Nick that the views of O'Reilly, Hannity and now Beck are strident to say the least.

Of those names, I am familiar only with Beck. In his case, i can happily overlook stridency if that is the price to pay for getting the right message (on AGW) across. More power to him!  :y

....am 75% with you on that, irrespective of the messenger, the message on this needs more widespread exposure :y

Martin, I know you know, but for any others reading this thread, AGW is the acronym for Anthropogenic Global Warming, i.e. man-made.  :y

Nothing like a bit of non discriminatory stereotyping eh

This thread smacks of a " if you dont read what i like then theres something wrong with you"

correct  :y

Not a good impression from a forum and i`ll bet a fair few silent folk that have read this will find the original post both patronising and condescending :(

i think i'd find that patronising and annoying that you'd presume to know what others think or care about

Got to say its the first thread that i have looked at since coming online to OOF today and it wouldnt be one that would encourage me to read more or join if i was new.

frightened of a little adult debate? you don't read the sun by any chance?  ;D

In fact it would probably lead to me stereotyping everyone on here if i didnt know there was some fantastic members.

that sounds like you're problem m8  :-?
